Rhinitis is a common problem moms have to deal with in the area of kids’ health. In different places doctors take different approaches to treating rhinitis, which vary from treating it with nasal drop vasoconstrictive medications and even antibiotics to letting it alone and allowing immune system to overcome the ailment. Even though in most cases children are quite capable to cure rhinitis without any help from doctors or moms, sometimes this problem can be very troubling, especially if we talk about kids of under two years of age and breast feeding infants. So, here I would like us to take a look at some alternative and natural cures that you can ease your kids’ rhinitis condition with.
If your kid has cold in his or her head, rhinitis and cough, you may use a very simple, effective, completely natural and safe cure. Boil several potatoes in their jackets. Take them out of the water, put them in some deep bowl and cover up with a towel. Let your kid bend over the bowl and breath in the warm air coming up from the potatoes. Your child should hold their head some 5-7 inches high over the bowl. For a better effect you may partially cover up his or her head with the towel, so more warm air would reach his or her nose and lungs.
Be careful not to let the child bow too low. 5-7 minutes of such warm potato air breathing can significantly lessen rhinitis and ease or even completely cure the cough, if the treatment is repeated couple of times a day.
Another simple and safe rhinitis cure is beetroot juice. You take a fresh beetroot and grate it. Then you squeeze some juice out of it. Take several drops of this juice with medicine dropper and put 1-2 drops down every nasal. Let your kid lay back for several minutes to let the juice soak in. You may apply this cure up to 3 times a day.
Another easy home mom rhinitis and cold cure is honey and ginger tea. You grate about 2 table spoons of ginger add one cup of honey and boil it. Then you add ½ of a tea spoon of this mixture to a cup of tea.
Here is one more great rhinitis cure is a mixture of althea and eucalyptus. You make decoction of every grass separately. You take 0,3 ounces of eucalyptus crushed leafs and boil them for 10 minutes in one cup of water. You also take 0,6 ounces of althea and do the same. Then you filter both broths and mix them up together in equal portions. You may wash your kid’s nasals with it several times a day.
You may ease or cure your rhinitis by washing your nose at least several times a day with warm salty water and a bit of calendula extract added to it. Take one tea spoon of calendula add it to 1,06 pints of water and boil. Let it cool of, filter it and add one tea spoon of this extract to a cup of warm and salty water. Rinse you kids’ nose with it several times a day.
I have given you here only few of many home health recipes for moms for curing or easing kids’ rhinites. There are many simple options available. The only thing you have to keep in mind that some of the home cure natural ingredients, such as honey for instance, can evoke allergies. So, before applying them make sure your kid has no such problem with all the ingredients you use.
